TAKE CARE OF YOUR FABRIC FURNITURE

Care of velvet fabrics
Our velvet fabrics are a soft and luxurious 100% cotton material from Italy. The velvet measures a Martindale of 100,000 per unit and is therefore incredibly durable. However, it is important to remember that velvet is sensitive to water, so avoid washing the fabric with a wet cloth. If liquid is spilled on the velvet, it will not sink into the fabric directly, but will settle on top of it as a film. Use a dry cloth or paper towel to absorb the liquid. If the stain remains on the fabric, a wet wipe can be used, then let the fabric air dry. Repeat the procedure if the stain remains.

Velvet can absorb dust and the best way to remove this is by vacuuming the fabric with a soft brush at regular intervals. A roller or a clothes brush can also be used to easily spruce up the velvet fabric. If a pressure mark has arisen on your product, the steam from a steam iron or a steamer can be used to smooth the fabric. The velvetsurface can fade if the furniture is exposed to strong sunlight, we recommend that you be careful about positioning for better durability.

Care of linen fabrics
Our linen fabrics are a linen mix from Italy consisting of 28% cotton, 21% linen and 51% viscose. Created from natural fibers, linen is a living material that changes and becomes more beautiful over time. To maintain the quality of the linen, we only recommend dry cleaning our linen furniture. If liquid is spilled on your linen furniture, wipe it up with a dry cloth. If there is a stain, use a wet wipe to remove the dirt.

Care of Chenille fabrics
Our chenille fabrics are made from 50% polyester, 33% recycled polyacrylic, 13% recycled wool and 4% other recycled materials. Chenille is a durable fabric with 96'000 Martindale. As with all other of our fabrics, we recommend dry cleaning only to avoid size or quality changes to the fabric. If liquid is spilled on your chenille furniture, wipe it up with a dry cloth. If there is a stain, use a wet wipe to remove the dirt.

Care of Boucle fabric
Our bouclé fabric is made of 70% acrylic, 23% polyester and 7% cotton with a wear resistance of 38'000 Martindale. Bouclé is woven from twisted yarn which creates the characteristic deep texture of the fabric. As with all other of our fabrics, we recommend dry cleaning only to avoid size or quality changes to the fabric. If liquid is spilled on your bouclé furniture, wipe it up with a dry cloth. If there is a stain, use a wet wipe to remove the dirt.

Care of Teddy fabric
Our teddy material has a material composition of 80% acrylic and 20% polyester which together form a soft and fine off-white fabric. To maintain the quality of the teddy material, we only recommend dry cleaning our teddy products. If liquid is spilled on the product, wipe it up with a dry cloth. If there is a stain, use a wet wipe to remove the dirt.

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF OTHER TEXTILE PRODUCTS

Care of Viscose products
Our Nico Rug is made of 100% viscose. To maintain the quality of the rug, we recommend that you vacuum it from time to time to remove dust, excess material and dirt. When the rug is new, it may shed, but this will disappear over time.

If liquid is spilled on the carpet, wipe it up with a dry cloth and then strike the carpet in the direction of the pile. If a stain occurs, use a stain remover suitable for viscose rugs. In case of severe stains are recommended dry cleaning, then our viscose rugs do not tear water wash. We also recommend that you use carpet mats and rotate the carpet sometimes for even wear.

Care of wool products
Our Frame Rug is made of 100% wool. To maintain the quality of the rug, we recommend that you vacuum it from time to time to remove dust and dirt. We also recommend using rug pads and rotating the rug occasionally for even wear. If liquid is spilled on the carpet, wipe it up with a dry cloth, without rubbing the dirt into the carpet fibres. If a stain occurs, use a wet wipe to remove the dirt. For severe stains, dry cleaning is recommended.

Our blankets are also made from 100% New Zealand wool. For all MELIMELI blankets, dry cleaning is recommended. The wool in our products is naturally stain resistant, so most stains caused by liquids can be easily wiped off with a dry cloth before the stain enters the fibers. Wool is somewhat self-cleaning and to maintain the quality of the wool we recommend airing and brushing the wool regularly.

Care of Percale
Our bedding is made of percale (100% cotton) with a thread count of 400, just like in the finest hotels. The bedding is OEKO-TEX certified and can be washed at 60 degrees.

TAKE CARE OF YOUR SOFA

Care of sofa upholstery & other molded items
The back cushions of MELIMELI sofas are filled with cut polyether, mixed with silicone ball fiber. The seat cushions consist of a cold foam core that is wrapped with a mixture of cut polyether and silicone ball fiber. This leads to excellent comfort without the cushion collapsing. To avoid shrinkage of the textiles, dry cleaning is recommended. We also recommend puffing the back and seat cushions at regular intervals to keep the sofa looking good.

How to keep your sofa in top condition
To prolong the life and maintain the comfort of your seat and back cushions, regular care is essential. We've put together some simple tips to make sure your cushions stay soft and supportive.

  1. PUFFING REGULARLY
Seat cushions and back cushions should be fluffed once a week. For seat cushions, it works best to stand them upright or hit them from the side. Back cushions should be puffed by placing them flat and then puffing or tapping them.
  2. TURN THE INNER CUSHIONS
To distribute the pressure evenly, turn the inner cushions of both seat and back cushions approximately every 6 months.
  3. VARY THE SEATING POSITION
Another useful trick is to change the position of your back and seat cushions from time to time, as we often tend to sit in the same place on the sofa. This helps to even out the wear and tear and extends the life of the cushions.

Miscellaneous
For the Blanca and Dahlia models, the fabric of the seat cushion and the decorative cushions are removable and recommended to be dry cleaned. The back cushion for Blanca and Dahlia is reversible. On model Luca, the entire upholstery is removable and can easily be dry cleaned.
