How do your favorite colors influence your design philosophy, and how do you integrate them into your work as head designer at MELIMELI and in your own home?

I love color and can't pick a favorite color. Surrounding myself with color and patterns gives me incredible inspiration, but I always strive for a balance in the color palette.

When I work at MELIMELI , we spend a lot of time selecting our color palette. Instead of offering every possible color, we make a selection and choose the perfect colors for our customers. For example, we have carefully selected our baby blue and Coral color. We work hard to ensure that our colors are perfect no matter where it's placed. Since colors can be perceived differently depending on light and furniture placement, it's important for me to lead the design team to ensure that MELIMELI maintains its basic color palette.

When it comes to my own home, I make sure to choose colors that I love and that give me energy. My daughters and I thrive when we have a lot of color around us, but even here it's important that the colors are well thought out and create a calm and harmonious feeling.

What are your best expert tips for creating a vibrant and energizing atmosphere in your home?

When I decorate, I always start by creating a mood board that shows what I like. Then I put together a color palette of five accent colors that permeate the entire home. It's important to choose the right color combinations to create a vibrant and stimulating environment. Decorate with small details and accessories that can give your home a playful and personal touch.

Can you share any affordable tricks or DIY projects you recommend to give your home a fresh update?

I always have a project in progress at home and I enjoy painting with my daughters Luca and Lucie. It's fun to then hang their drawings on the walls or on the fridge. My top tip for updating your home on a budget is that a sofa can be given a whole new look by buying a new cushion or a beautiful throw. If you have a plain colored sofa at home, our Idea Coral/Whitethrow can transform it into something completely different.

Can you give us a preview of what will soon be available in the MELIMELI range? Are there any exciting new releases coming up?

In 2023 we will launch many new and wonderful furniture and products! But what is coming out soon, before the summer, are our new striped fabrics in the colors Light blue/Off-white and Coral/Off-white. I am personally looking forward to getting my new sofa cover for my Luca sofa. I am waiting for a Striped coral upholstery, and it will look amazing with a Striped sofa at home.
